Empowering Mixtecos for a brighter future.

Supporting education and development.

Proyecto Limmudim provides auto mechanics training specifically designed for young Mixtec individuals, catering to their unique needs and cultural background. Our program not only equips participants with valuable technical skills but also instills important biblical values, emphasizing integrity, responsibility, and compassion in their work. By offering this tailored training, we aim to empower young Mixtec people to thrive in the automotive industry while nurturing their personal growth and character development.

Hands on Learning

Most mechanics in Oaxaca have either gone to mechanics school and learned a lot of theory but have little to no hands on experience, or have learned simply working in a shop but have little theoretical understanding. We aim to combine both aspects by training both within a class room setting as well as working under an experienced mechanic in our on site shop.

Contextual Training

Even when Mixtecos have the opportunity to study auto mechanics in a school, they often work with tools and equipment that they do not have at their disposal back home due to financial or infrastructural reasons. In our school, we will be applying theoretical knowledge in a way that is easily replicable for our students once they return to their community of origin.

Support for Communities

Training auto mechanics from indigenous communities not only equips them with a sustainable source of income but also addresses a critical gap in essential services. Currently, fewer than 10% of these communities have access to a local mechanic shop, making this initiative vital for their economic and social development.

“With the support from Lusaka, we have been able to serve our students better than ever.”
